We all use cloud services like Google Drive to share files, but downloading the file can be tricky on some devices. With DriveDirect, you get a direct link to the file without the hassle of loading the whole Google Drive website.
-What does it do?
When you paste in a link to a Google Drive file, DriveDirect converts the URL to a special type that points directly to the file on Googles servers, so whether youre creating a website, sending someone a file, or anything else, DriveDirect helps to eliminate the time-consuming step of using the Google Drive website to click Download,
-Does it work with all files?
DriveDirect only works with files with a visible file extension in the Google Drive app or website. These include files like .png photos, .mp4 videos, and .pdf documents, among many others. Google Docs files, such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides, wont work here because of how Google handles sharing for them.
-Where else can I get it?
DriveDirect supports iPhone, iPad, and Mac natively, with a Python tool available for operating systems like Windows and Linux that we dont yet support. Keep your productivity going wherever you are!
-Who made this app?
DriveDirect is developed by single student developer Noah Evans, the founder of Velocity Apps. The apps user interface is designed by Kindred Cashew. Credits can be found in the app.
