Human-reported U.S. fire data is sourced from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group and the National Interagency Fire Center. This data provides up-to-date information on fires including perimeter, containment, and fuel type.

Satellite data is sourced from NASA and the ESA. Satellites can serve as an early warning system for new wildfires, especially ones that start in remote areas where human detection may be delayed. Use satellite hotspots to see the true spread of a fire, which is often beyond the official perimeter.

Red Flag warnings are sourced from the National Weather Service.

Wind data and forecasts are sourced from NOAAs GFS model.
